This episode of The Daily Show covers three main political controversies leading up to the 2026 midterm elections:
- Brent Taylor's Scandal ( - ): Republican congressional candidate Brent Taylor is facing scrutiny for sending unsolicited nude photos, which he described as a "youthful indiscretion" despite being 53 years old at the time.
- Trump's "Ass" Commentary ( - ): President Trump has been repeatedly referencing the anatomy of Senator John Houston and Ken Paxton during his campaign rallies, claiming he was analyzing where their "power" comes from, a narrative he later attempted to walk back.
- Alaska's "Dan Sullivan" Confusion ( - ): A tight Senate race in Alaska between Republican Dan Sullivan and Democrat Mary Pela has drawn national attention after the DOJ attempted to block election certification due to a second candidate named Dan Sullivan appearing on the ballot. Reports suggest the second Sullivan was recruited by Democratic operatives to confuse voters, leading to a debate over ballot naming conventions and the meaning of the term "incumbent."
